Chameleon first emerged
to rapturous applause in a small bar in an old city in Asturias, Spain, but in fact stems from a 20-year-old friendship and musical collaboration between the members. In their impromptu gig, the energy between the three musicians and the audience was so high they thought they’d better keep the music going! Drawing on the rich Celtic traditions of Ireland, Scotland, Spain and Brittany, Chemeleon’s love of Spanish melodies and Eastern European rhythms breathes new life into traditional forms, taking unexpected turns to create an experience that is both vibrant and reflective.

“At the heart of Chameleon’s sound lies a seamless meeting of hemispheres—a collaboration between three well-established musicians whose individual artistry blends effortlessly into something greater than the sum of its parts.”
They are pioneers in folk music, exploring fresh pathways and curating a repertoire that highlights women as innovators, storytellers, and voices of strength across time. Their music challenges stereotypes and invites new dialogues, offering audiences a sonic journey through tradition and transformation.
Every sweeping pull of bow and box, every soulful ornament, and every thrum of rhythm on strings is well-earned from the many years of long nights spent playing tunes on stage and off—at festivals, bars, in kitchens, verandahs, and streets around the globe. Their medleys, songs, and original compositions pay heartfelt respect to their musical forebears while taking audiences on a wild ride through the spontaneous, relational magic that is possible between three kindred spirits in music. Melodies swell and fade, harmonies emerge and soar before tumbling back into unity, while the guitar and bass lines weave a rich, sensual tapestry underpinning the whole.
On stage Laura, Bree, and Luis celebrate the spontaneity, intimacy, and pure joy of live music. Audiences are invited to share in this dialogue—a conversation between friends and traditions, between past and present, between the musicians and the moment.
